Business Law Legal Research (2 credits)

This course will help students develop the sophisticated research skills necessary for the effective practice of business law, including the ability to efficiently research issues concerning business formation and regulation. Students will explore business topics using secondary and primary sources, including databases, treatises, practice materials, and materials produced by law firms. Topics covered include: business development, administrative and economic regulation of business, corporate finance, securities, alternative investment strategies, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust, corporate bankruptcy, real estate, employment law and international business law issues. Grading will be based upon class participation and research assignments. Prerequisites: None
