Southeast Toyota, LLC (Deerfield Beach)

As the sole summer intern in the Southeast Toyota Distributors legal department, the intern will work directly with SET in-house attorneys, paralegals and support staff, as well as have routine exposure to other departments in the company. Students will conduct legal research and provide legal analysis in a variety of subjects including franchise law, automotive regulation, advertising law and intellectual property. Students also will assist SET attorneys in reviewing commercial contracts and marketing material.

Recommended Courses: Corporations, Corporate Finance, Contract Drafting, Negotiations, Sales and Leases, Consumer Law, Evidence

Certified under the Student Practice Rule:  No

Selection Process: A student should complete an FSU COL civil externship application and a cover letter to Southeast Toyota explaining the student’s interest and submit these items to the externship program during the school’s application period.

Semester, Work Dates & Hours:  The externship is available in the summer and requires the student to work 20 hours per week for 9 weeks. (Fall or spring may be possible; contact the faculty supervisor if interested.)
