President-Matthew Aguero

Matt Aguero graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Mathematics.  Following graduation, he obtained his pilot’s license from Journey’s Aviation in Broomfield, CO and competed in marathons before relocating to the east coast where he worked as a bartender and as a raft guide.  Matt is now in his second year at the FSU College of Law and is the President of the Student Bar Association as well as a member of the Women’s Law Symposium and the Law School Golf Association. 

Vice-President-Allison Goodson

Allison is a 3L originally from a tiny island on Lake Erie, but more recently from Atlanta Georgia. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Political Science at the University of Georgia in 2004 before entering law school.  She has been active in the SBA since the end of her 1L year and is also a peer advisor and member of the Phi Delta Phi legal honor society.

Treasurer-Emily Joyner

Miss Emily Elizabeth Joyner is a Cancer and loves long walks on the beach.  She also loves the Florida State University.  Emily attended FSU as an undergraduate with a major in Criminology and a minor in Business and is now a 2L at the College of Law.  Hailing from the sunny city of Miami, Florida Emily enjoys fun in the sun and chillaxing with her family.  If you ever see her in the halls, or even at the mall, please do not hesitate to give a hearty "Hello!"

Secretary-Shay Alexander

Shay is a second year law student from Bartow, Florida.  She graduated from the Florida State University with a BA in English Literature and a minor in Black Studies. She served in numerous leadership positions, including President and Vice President of the FSU Chapter of the NAACP, Minority Affairs Director of Student Government Association and Women's Concerns Advocate.  She is currently a member of the Mock Trial Team and Christian Legal Society.  Her legal interests include Trial and Appellate Advocacy, Sports and Entertainment, International Law and most important, Education Law.


ABA/LSD Rep-Cecilia Aquino

ABA/LSD Jr. Rep-Ashley Ligas
Ashley Ligas is a second year student from St. Petersburg, Florida. She graduated from UCF in 2005 with a BA in Political Science. Ashley is also the Lt. Governor of Membership for the Fifth Circuit. She is also involved with: Phi Alpha Delta, Women’s Law Symposium and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Big Bend.


FL Bar Rep-Carrie May Poniewaz

Originally from Milwaukee, Carrie May, a 2L, earned a Journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1999.  She worked as a newspaper reporter in Washington, DC, Kenosha, WI, and Sarasota, FL, before spending two years in public relations and advertising.  Last year she served as a 1L Representative on SBA.  She is involved in several journalism and communications endeavors, and she enjoys running and traveling.

3L Rep-Abidemi Oladipo

Abidemi is a third year law student from Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Political Science. Abidemi previously served as the president of the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Society during the 2005-06 school year.  Abidemi is also a member of the FSU Mock Trial team and Phi Alpha Delta.

3L Rep-Joyce Shannon

Joyce Shannon is in her last year of law school and is one of two third year representatives on the 2006-07 SBA board. Joyce played on the women's soccer team at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and she graduated with a journalism degree in 2000. Following matriculation, she worked as a newspaper reporter for three years before she came to FSU College of Law. She is Co-chairperson of the SBA’s Bar Review Committee and also Vice President of the Mock Trial Team's Executive Board.

2L Rep-Ben Gibson

Ben is a 2L from Winter Park, FL. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2005 with a BA in Political Science. Previously, Ben has served as an SBA 1L Representative, the President of LitiGators, as well as serving on the SGA Elections Commission and Dean Weidner's Advisory Panel. Ben is currently a member of RLSA, the Federalist Society, the Christian Legal Society and Phi Alpha Delta. His interests include corporate, business, and real estate law.

2L Rep-Ben Smith
Ben Smith is a 2L from Knoxville, Tennessee.  He graduated in 2004 with a degree in Business and Public Administration from the University of Tennessee.  He is also the Treasurer of the Mock Trial team, and a member of ACS and DLSA.  Outside of law school, he enjoys cycling and competitive sports.
