Exam4 has announced they will not support the new operating system releases of Windows 8.1 and Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks for the Fall 2013 semester. The final release dates of these operating systems have not been disclosed and Exam4 will need ample time to ensure compatibility. Please keep in mind that if you do upgrade your laptop to 8.1 or Mavericks, you will not be able to install and use Exam4 on it this Fall.
Exam4 will update their hardware requirements page if there are any changes: http://www.exam4.com/userguide#hardware
We will also update this page if this news changes: http://www.law.fsu.edu/current_students/technology/newsfeed.asp

Laptop Requirement update for new OS (07-15-2012)
The exam software used by the FSU College of Law is not supported on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion or Windows 8 as of yet. Please take this in to account if you are thinking about purchasing a new laptop. This notice will be updated when these operating systems are supported.
Update (7/30/2012): Extegrity is working diligently to certify Exam4 support for Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Please understand it is necessary for Extegrity to verify compatibility with the version that was publicly released on July 25, not pre-release or beta versions. No change on Windows 8 since the last announcement. Windows 8 is being released in October and Extegrity will not have time to fully vet a new version for release before final exams. We encourage you to avoid upgrading to Windows 8 until after the first of the year.
Update (8/15/2012): Mountain Lion now supported! Extegrity has completed analysis of Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and Exam4 is now compatible. Support for Windows 8 has not changed and is expected that it will not be supported for this fall.
Recorded Classes now delivered via Smooth Streaming (01-05-2012)
We are pleased to announce that classes that will be video recorded will be delivered via Windows Smooth Streaming and Microsoft Silverlight. This method caters to a broader scope of operating systems and Internet Browsers. It also allows students and faculty to watch the videos over any network speed. The technology we used is similar to many popular on-demand video streaming services used by millions of people. We hope you enjoy the new, smoother experience and as always we value your input. Please feel free to contact us.
