Each semester law librarians offer a series of research workshops intended to reinforce and sharpen law students' legal research skills. Current and past workshops can be found here. New topics are frequently added. To register for a workshop or suggest a training topic, contact Margaret Clark via email or phone 850.644.9244.
The reference librarians have written a series of Research Guides designed to assist students in accessing databases and conducting legal research. The guides identify electronic and print sources relevant in a particular subject area. For a complete list of Research Guides, click here.
Jumpstart sessions are designed to prepare law students for work in law firms, summer clerking, and externships. These informal, open-ended sessions address students' individual research needs and prospective practice goals in a one-on-one or small group setting. Jumpstarts assist students in making the transition from academic researcher to practitioner. Students learn what they need to know in Florida and Federal law - anything from formbooks, legislative history, administrative law, or other areas. Sessions generally last an hour. To schedule a jumpstart, you can fill out our Book-A-Librarian form or phone 850.644.7487.
